I ranked No.3 in the First Page of Google Search Engine Out of 85,600,000 Competing Websites

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Yes…my website ranked No.3 in the first page of Google’s Search Engine out of 85,600,000 competing websites. And It’s not a guess work or word of fiction nor a lucky claim.

Getting into the first page of the Google’s search page is a fierce battle between websites competing on a certain keyword.

Being buried in the depth of the search engine’s search pages particularly in google search engine is a sure and guaranteed disaster, because these websites or webpages will never be seen by any web surfer or online buyer and will barely survive as far as site monetization is concerned. After all, what good does a website brings when nobody knows it existed except you as the website owner.

Business wise, you created and built websites to earn and make money online or offline.

In the digital world, your website is your business portal to reach your targeted global audience or market. If your website will fail to get a decent rank in the first page of the search engines, you will be having hard times in coping with the cost of maintaining your websites’ presence on the net. Not unless of course,  if you have other sources of traffic.

On the other hand, if you are lucky enough to get into the first page of the search engines on certain keywords that you are targeting, you will get massive number of hits each day. You will also experience huge amount of sales, and demand of the products that are sold in your websites that rank well in the first page of the search engine will increase.

Of course you have all the right to celebrate on that success in getting on massive hits and product sales.

But BEWARE

Your rank in the first page of the search engines will never stay there forever. As the number of websites competing on the keywords that you are targeting gets higher, the number of competition will also become higher and chances are, your websites that previously ranked number 1 on the first page of the search engine will move down, and much worst,  these might even be bumped off.

As an example to illustrate my point, take the case of this website’s webpage that ranked number 1, 2 and 3 in the first page of google search engine nothwithstanding its fierce competition in the following keywords.

Case 1

Keyword : “how to send money to someone abroad for free
Competing websites : 1,320,000
1st Page Rank in Google Search Engine : Number 1
See the snapshot of the Google’s first page in this particular keyword.

Case 2

Keyword : “how to send money to someone abroad for free
Competing websites : 2,160,000
1st Page Rank in Google Search Engine : Number 2
See the snapshot of the Google’s first page in this particular keyword

See my point now?

Based on the sample as mentioned above, it is very clear that if you will not monitor and pay close attention to your website’s ranking on the first page of the search engines, your website will again be buried into the search engine’s search pages as the competing websites grew.

In case 1, the webpage ranked no. 1 over and above the competition of 1,320,000 websites. In case 2, with the same targeted keyword/phrase ” how to send money to someone abroad for free “, but now with new websites competing on that particular keyword/phrase and that grew into a total of 2,160,000 websites, the webpage now moved lower to ranked number 2. If these number of websites competing on that same keyword/phrase will continue to pile up, and I will not do something to address the competition, this webpage will surely be buried down to the depth of google search engine.

But not in my case because  I closely monitor the ranking of my websites in the search engines. No matter what happens and however the competition grow I see to it that its ranking will stay there and improve.

Here is another snapshot of this same webpage ranking with millions of websites competing in the following keyword:

Case 3

Keyword : “transfer money abroad post office
Competing websites : 80,700,000
1st Page Rank in Google Search Engine : Number 3
See the snapshot of the Google’s first page where I ranked No. 3

Case 4

Keyword : “transfer money abroad post office
Competing websites : 85,600,000
1st Page Rank in Google Search Engine : Number 3
See the snapshot of the Google’s first page where I maintained the rank no. 3 despite of 85,600,000 competing websites

In case 3, the webpage of this website targeted for “ transfer money abroad post office ” keyword/phrase ranked no. 3 out of 80,700,000 competing websites. Then the competition get intense and the total number of competing websites grew to 85,600,000 as shown in case 4. But still, my webpage still ranked number 3 despite it’s fierce battle to stay on the first page of google search engine.

Getting into this first page rank in google as I have mentioned earlier is not a guess work nor a work of fiction or luck. It does need a knowledge in the search engine optimization and the proper way of choosing the right keywords.

Again in my case, to be competitive in the organic search traffic, I read and research a lot about SEO and used various keyword tools to find the best keywords for my website and uncover massively profitable niches..

For this particular project as cited in cases 1, 2, 3, and 4, I used the Keyword Elite research tool in finding keywords that guarantee a sure hits in the organic search traffic. This is also my own way of testing the efficiency of this keyword research tool that I bought online.

And it works! The results that I captured on screenshots and used as sample case studies of this post speak for itself.

Nothing can guarantee your websites success in getting top ranking on the first page of the search engines but your proper application of search engine optimization and the right choice of keywords that are 100% proven to be a winner.

Google Adsense Invalid Click and How Does It Affect Adsense Publisher Account

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Here’s another question I received from one of my subscribers pertaining to his Google Adsense account, which to some savvy adsense publishers sound so basic. But let’s give this fellow adsense publisher a little consideration being a newbie in the google adsense world.

His question :

” How does an invalid click of google adsense ads in my website affects me?”

My answer :

More than anything else, an invalid click is a big no-no and it will get your account terminated faster than you can imagine.

Having said that, an invalid click is when a google adsense  publisher clicks on their own ads to add to their earning potential .

It is also when an adsense publisher asks others to click on his or her ads just to raise their revenue. It also raises the advertiser’s costs and Google won’t tolerate this. Google Adsense has state of the art technology and they know what’s going on.

Invalid clicks in google adsense ads also happen when someone uses robots or any automated software that will click on the adsense ads. Such practice is a clear violation of the google adsense policy and expect no mercy from the adsense staff when you are caught doing this.

Doing something that will result to invalid clicks however, is not necessary as there are plenty of money-making opportunities with valid clicks.

With an optimized website, useful content, and attractive ads, there’s no reason for anybody to even entertain the idea of using invalid clicks.

You the publisher, have complete control over the advertisement that runs on your site. You can choose to run only image ads, only text ads, or a combination of both. Google recommends that you choose a combination of both to maximize your earning potential.

When making your ad decision, you have the freedom to choose which type of ads run across your entire account (image or text) or you can narrow that decision to what type of ad might run on a particular page.

Right now, you can not differentiate your image ad click rate from your text ad click rate. But you can of course, differentiate your click rate from one site as opposed to another site. Say, for example, you run only image ads on one site and only text ads on another site, but by setting up channels to track both sites, you can see which site has the better click rate.

Of course, you have to take into consideration there would be more factors than whether you were running text or image ads. The content, the placement of the ads in general, even the color could make a difference.

Lastly, for more detailed and specific instructions of Google Adsense Invalid Clicks provision, please read the official Google Adsense Program Policy in this link.
